Online music resource for community radio
Community radio stations now have access to online playlists as part of an initiative to support Australian music airplay.
"This new service is an important resource for Australia's community radio sector and for local artists seeking airplay," said the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy.
The Australian Music Radio Airplay Project (AMRAP) today launched AirIT, an online service providing access for community radio stations to fully customised music play lists. Music is delivered to stations either as digital file downloads or in CD format.
AMRAP is a Government-funded project that helps promote contemporary Australian music on community radio. The Rudd Government committed to $2.4 million to AMRAP over four years in the 2008-09 Budget.

"There are more than 350 community radio stations across Australia playing an important role supporting the needs of their local communities."
AMRAP funding is one element of the Government's broader support for community broadcasting, with the sector receiving $16.3 million this financial year.
