Australian Sports Foundation Board appointments
The Minister for the Arts and Sport, Senator Rod Kemp, today announced the reappointment of Ms Michelle Ford-Eriksson MBE and Ms Margot Foster to the Board of the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF).
“I am delighted both Ms Ford-Eriksson and Ms Foster have agreed to continue their work with the Australian Sports Foundation for a further year,” Senator Kemp said.
“Ms Ford-Eriksson and Ms Foster, who were also both recently reappointed to the Australian Sports Commission Board, bring a significant amount of experience and expertise to the ASF Board and are strongly committed to the development of Australian sport—from the community level through to the elite.”
Ms Ford-Eriksson has a background in business development and is also a consultant to the Sydney Olympic Park Authority. Ms Ford-Eriksson has also had a highly successful international swimming career, highlighted by winning gold for the 800 metres freestyle at the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. She is currently a Board member of Swimming Australia Ltd.
Ms Foster has a background in commercial law. She has also participated in rowing at the elite level, having represented Australia at the 1984 Olympic and 1986 Commonwealth Games and in the 1985 World Championships.
“These reappointments will provide valuable continuity to the work of the Board,” Senator Kemp said.
