Reappointment to Visions of Australia Committee

The Minister for the Arts and Sport, Senator Rod Kemp, today announced the reappointment of Ms Pamela Whitlock to the Visions of Australia Committee.

'Ms Whitlock has been a valuable member of the Visions of Australia Committee since her original appointment in July 2001 and I am delighted that she has agreed to serve another two year term as a regional gallery representative on the Committee,' Senator Kemp said

Ms Whitlock is the Director, Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum.

Prior to joining the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum in 1993, Ms Whitlock was the Curator/Director of the Brisbane City Hall Art Gallery and Museum and the Conservator at the Brisbane Civic Art Gallery and Museum.

'Ms Whitlock has had a long association with the regional arts in Queensland including contributing to peer assessments for major arts grants,' Senator Kemp said.

'Ms Whitlock has also been a board member for the Regional Galleries Association Queensland and I am confident she will continue to play an important role on the Committee, drawing on her extensive experience in regional arts.'

Visions of Australia aims to make exhibitions of cultural material accessible to more Australians by providing grants to cultural and community organisations to tour exhibitions of historical and scientific material, visual arts and craft, multimedia and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture throughout Australia.
