The Minister for the Arts and Sport, Senator Rod Kemp, today announced the reappointment of Mr Adam Lewis to the Australia Council for the Arts.
'Mr Lewis has been a valuable member of the Australia Council since his original appointment in October 2001 and I am delighted that he has agreed to serve another three year term as a community interest representative on the Council,' Senator Kemp said.
'Mr Lewis is a director and the Managing Partner of the management consultancy McKinsey and Company in Australia and New Zealand.
'Prior to joining McKinsey and Company Mr Lewis was an electronics research engineer with Ran Data and with broadcasting equipment manufacturer PKE Electronics.
'Recently, he spent a number of years on the board of the Melbourne International Film Festival working closely on fundraising, business strategy and growth.'
During his time on the Australia Council Mr Lewis has been a member of its audit and decisions review committees.
'Mr Lewis brings to the position a wealth of experience from the corporate and arts worlds, combined with knowledge gained during his first term on the Council - outstanding credentials for a further appointment,' Senator Kemp said.
The Australia Council is the Australian Government's principal arts funding and advisory body. The 15 member body encourages the creativity and development of Australian artists and aims to increase access by all Australians to arts and cultural activities.
