New Playing Australia committee member

The Minister for the Arts and Sport, Senator Rod Kemp, announced the appointment of Mr Alexander (Alex) Budd to the Playing Australia Committee for a period of three years.

'Mr Budd brings an extensive depth of technical skills and experience in performing arts touring to the committee,' Senator Kemp said.

'I look forward to the valuable contributions Mr Budd will make to the committee.'

Mr Budd has worked at OzOpera, Opera Australia's touring and educational arm, in various technical positions including project manager, production manager and tour planning-he is currently acting company manager.

He gained his technical and touring experience working for organisations such as the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Sydney Dance Company and the Sydney Theatre Company.

Playing Australia is the Australian Government's performing arts touring funding program.
