$1.965 million for twelve new e-business projects
Twelve e-business projects worth $1.965 million were announced today by the Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, Senator Helen Coonan, as part of the Information Technology Online (ITOL) program.
Since 1996, the Government has allocated more than $15.4 million to 131 innovative ITOL projects across a range of industry sectors and geographic regions. ITOL grants of up to $200,000 are awarded to encourage businesses, particularly small-to-medium sized enterprises, to adopt e-commerce solutions.
“The benefits these sorts of business-to-business projects generate go well beyond the life of the funding,” Senator Coonan said.
“They will make information exchange and business transactions more efficient and lead to increased productivity across a range of sectors. The 12 successful projects in Round 14 of ITOL will assist a variety of industries.
The selection of the projects in this funding round support a cross section of professional and community activities.
The projects are from a range of industry sectors including four in health, two each in the arts, manufacturing, agriculture/live stock processing, and one each in transport and the building/construction industries.
“This is good news not only for the areas that were funded in this round but also for the related industries and the broader community,” Senator Coonan said.
